Backyards and Spring
Springtime is the land awakening. The March winds are the morning yawn. ~Quoted by Lewis Grizzard in Kathy Sue Loudermilk, I Love You
I love this time of year! There is a Hong Kong Orchid tree in my yard that starts blooming in Spring. It is just packed full of beautiful purple blooms and the best part is the Humming Birds that come every morning and evening to feed! They are very territorial and will chase and dive bomb each other- it is quite a show! At the end of a stressful day it is so nice to retreat to my yard and enjoy watching the entertainment that nature provides me.
Spring is around the corner and some of you may be thinking about making some changes to your backyard. It doesn’t take much to turn your backyard into a mini sanctuary or a focal point for entertaining guests. In Orlando, we can appreciate the February through June months for outside activities. It is not as humid and the bugs are not out in full force yet.
Over the next few weeks we will share ideas to help with your backyard transformation projects.
For today, privacy is a good place to start. Nothing like trying to squeeze in some “me time” when that nosy neighbor just barges over and wants to catch you up on all the neighborhood gossip. Start thinking privacy fence. You can completely close in your backyard with Wood or PVC Fencing or maybe just one side. You could also just close in a patio area.
