Backyard Focal Point
At this point you should have a good idea of what type of fencing you will use to provide the privacy you need. When designing your backyard get away, consider what the focal point will be. Gazebos, arbors or fountains make great focal points. I have seen outdoor fire places or even plants used as the center piece of a backyard.
If you chose to use an arbor, there are at least three types:
- Entry point arbors - placed at the entry to your yard
- Destination arbors - gives you or your guests a place to go visit in your yard. Especially if you add a bench.
- Focal point arbors - used as the main attraction of your yard.
Whichever you chose, once you have the focal point planned out you can design the rest of your landscaping and entertaining areas around it.
