What to Look for in a Fencing Company

If you’ve decided what kind of fence you’d like to glamorize your backyard with, it’s time to find the right company for the job.  Keep in mind, all companies are most definitely not created equal.  Here are some things to educate yourself about before you even pick up the phone:

  • Find out if the company is using the same manufacturer for everything. This could conflict with warranties on your fence.
  • Try to avoid companies that charge you by the hour.  Companies that charge per hour and more likely to have employees that aren’t experienced and haven’t been with the company too long.
  • Call “Locates” before any digging commences.  This is a free service, and your company should never charge you for it.
  • Make sure all permitting is completed before the job begins.  Not doing so can cost you hundreds in fines.

If you want a company that has all the qualities you need for the perfect fencing project, contact us at Paramount Fencing.  Call us today to find out why we’re the company for you.

Fencing on Uneven Terrain

As you can imagine, building a fence up the side of a mountain would be considerably more difficult than a flat, stable field.  The efforts may be increased, but the project can be done.  The method most commonly used for this situation is called “contour construction”, where the fence is built to follow the contours of fluctuating elevation. Most fence types have little trouble conforming to the techniques of the contour method. It takes good planning, measurements, and materials to make the process a relatively simple one.

Another method that can be used on uneven terrain is the “stepped” method.  Instead of your fence aligning itself with the slope of the ground, your fence is constructed in segments that go down in steps.  The posts of the fence are level, while in the contour method they may be angled downward.  No matter what method you choose, it is imperative that the work done is accurate and done with careful attention to detail.  It would be disappointing to have a section of the fence off kilter and sagging because of lack of planning, throwing off the  aesthetic of the entire project.

If you want a fence built correctly the first time around, feel free to contact Paramount Fencing today and learn more!

Survey, Easements and Fences… OH MY!

When putting up a fence or expanding your current fence, make sure you reference your existing home survey. This could help save some major headaches down the road.

You want to make sure that you are putting your fence on your own property line and to be aware of any utility easements that may be running through your property.

Most utility easements run at the back of your lot and can expand 5 feet up to 20 feet.  You will need to make sure you know your rights when adding a fence into utility easements.

Check with your local county or city office to see what permits you may need (and surveys) before putting up a fence.

As always, when you don’t know, let the professionals at Paramount Fencing help you.  Our trusted employees will consult about the right fence for you, custome and install all your fencing with no headaches to you.  Call our office today for a FREE estimate 407.341.2720.

Enjoy Your Backyard With Privacy

It’s Florida, and it’s HOT outside. If it’s not raining, then chances are you are outside cooling off in your pool. If you are one of the many people in Central Florida who don’t have any privacy around your backyard, then maybe it’s time to get a fence. Float around your pool, play football, or garden without the whole neighborhood knowing what you are doing!

If you have never shopped or been in the market for a fence, then how do you know what to look for? This is where we come in. Our team of experts at Paramount Fencing want to help you find the best possible solution for your fencing needs. When you are shopping for a fencing company ask for recommendation from their customers, both residential and commercial.

Ask the company what type of fence would be best for your situation (wood, aluminum, or vinyl/pvc). Be clear to tell them the purpose of the fence (privacy, pet or pool enclosure, property, etc). Know where you want the fence to be located, exactly. Also be sure of any home owner association restrictions.

If you are searching for custom fencing in the Orlando area, we encourage you to call us at Paramount Fencing (407-341-2720) and educate your self before you make a big decision. We want our customers to be proud of our work, and be proud of the addition you have made to your property.

We are currently creating custom fence designs in wood, pvc/vinyl, or aluminum. We also serve the following Orlando areas: Lake Mary, College Park, Waterford, Baldwin Park, Heathrow, & Winter Park.
