Though we often don’t take too great of measures to prepare for the Winter in Orlando, we still are faced with the possibility of being barraged by cold fronts. Winterization is preparing for periods of long, harsh cold weather. It can apply to landscapes, vehicles, buildings, and even your fence. Snow, sleet, and freezing ground may not be too common during the Winter months in Central Florida, but there are still ways you can prepare your outdoor fixtures for the coming months, especially if your fence is old and has some parts that need to be repaired.
Fence Winterization is going to be, for the most part, a preventative stance on fence care instead of attempting to repair after damage is done. Before the Winter starts, repainting or resealing your wooden fence is ideal. Cold, wet weather that lingers on your fence during the Winter could cause dry rot once Spring starts. Metal fences, in a similar respect, are prone to rust and parts can lose functionality when temperatures drop.
If you need help preparing your Orlando fence for coming months, whether it is wooden, vinyl, metal, or custom, call us at Paramount Fencing today at (407)341-2720.

You may be familiar with some of the great benefits a PVC or Orlando Vinyl fence may provide to you, but we’ll discuss a few more advantages of this form of fencing.
- A wooden fence is capable of keeping up a good appearance for about 15 years, by which this time it may need to be replaced. It’s not surprising to see a PVC fence last for more than fifty years. That’s because it is made from an especially durable plastic that goes by the name of poly vinyl chloride.
- Our blog has made a continuous point of saying that PVC fencing doesn’t rot, grow mildew, need nails that eventually rust, or suffer from termite damage. But did you know that PVC fences are also resistant to graffiti?
- Even though the initial cost of PVC is pretty much equal to wooden, you see savings over time because of the lower upkeep and the general lack of a need to perform repairs.
- PVC fencing typical looks all around nicer and cleaner than many other wooden fences.
There is a certain pleasantness and grandeur of wooden fences. But if you want fencing that is cost-effective and is seen as an upgrade for your backyard, give us a call to arrange for a consultation regarding a brand new PVC fence in Orlando. Call Paramount Fencing, a premier Orlando fencing company, at (407)341-2720.

Vinyl fencing has become a very popular option for fencing for many different reasons. It’s typically cheaper than other forms of fencing, is low-maintenance, has a lower carbon footprint, and is durable. There is one potential misconception, though. Vinyl fencing can be affected by extremes in weather, and might pose a problem with installation. We will discuss how exactly this comes into play.
Vinyls tend to shift with temperature. Vinyl has a habit of expanding in high temperatures, and contracts during low temperatures. Being that vinyl installation has to be very precise, with materials fitting together almost flawlessly, temperatures can thwart a project from ever starting. Though this task may be difficult for homeowners, a professional fencing company is still capable of installation procedures that account for potentially troublesome temperatures.
Due to the effects of extreme temperatures, the best times of the year to install vinyl are normally going to be Fall and Spring. This will give a fencing project time to work in a stable environment where vinyl won’t shift.

Building a fence for a client is both a product and a service. The product itself is the finished, gorgeous, well-constructed fence. The service is making it smooth and effortless for the customer. And being that it is a service, that means it requires the utmost customer service. Construction trends change, and often times for the better. Asbestos was once thought to be a breakthrough in home insulation, but the repercussions were detrimental. The same has come into play for fencing, and if you aren’t knowledgeable about what’s going into your fence, you might not be getting the best possible product.
In 2003, the EPA banned the use of Cromate Copper Arsenate (ACC) and replaced it with Alkaline Copper Quaternary (ACQ) for use of wood preservation. Cromate Copper Arsenate declined in usage because of the fact that arsenic-containing timber could pose health hazards.
Some people skimp out by using nails and staples that can’t withstand the elements. Quality construction materials last up to ten times longer than their cheap counterparts.
These are only a few, but it takes the trust and credible reputation of a great fencing company to accomplish something you’ll still be pleased with a decade from now. For a reliable fencing company in Orlando that won’t let you down, contact Paramount Fencing today at 407-341-2720.

PVC is great. It doesn’t crack, chip, peel or rot. It stands up very well in the harsh Florida weather, especially during heat spells and times of extreme moisture. It can withstand great wind speeds, and is four times more flexible than wood while still being five times stronger. These are the attributes for a well-made, solidly-constructed PVC fence. But did you know there are actually four types of vinyl fences?
The four kinds are plastic, refurbish, monoextruded, and double extruded. We recommend double extruded to really get the results and longevity you want for your fence. The reasons the others don’t compare are as follows:
- Plastic-Brittle and only lasts an average of 5 years. Not exactly the best life span.
- Refurbish-Last roughly 10 years, but is hollow and is made from recycled plastic and vinyl.
- Monoextruded-The thickness is thin, and its coat wars off within 3-5 years, exposing it to unpleasant aesthetics.
Going vinyl for your fencing is a smart decision, but not every fencing company in Central Florida is going to give you the product you’re looking for. We will ensure your satisfaction by only using the best available PVC. Contact us today at Paramount Fencing in Orlando by calling 407-341-2720.

PVC Fencing is very commonly used in modern day fencing. Something to keep in mind is that PVC fencing comes in different forms, that are not always the sturdiest or most reliable fencing. The four types are: Plastic, Refurbished, Monoextruded, & Double Extruded.

Let’s start with Plastic. Although plastic is more affordable, it needs to be replaced after just 5 years. The fence is also very brittle & generally turns yellowish in color.
Refurbished fencing is recycled plastic & vinyl melted down, with a thin layer of vinyl on the outside of a gray core. Generally lasts about 10 years before needing to be replaced.
Monoextruded, on the other hand, i s vinyl extracted from plastic & coated with polyurethane. These fences, though better than the two above, are an economy version of pure vinyl fencing. The wall thickness is thin and the clear coating wears off within 3 to 5 years.
Double Extruded Vinyl, on the other hand, is actual full PVC (polyvinyl chloride). PVC had UV resistance which means that the coloring will not be impacted by the weather. The PVC is reprocessed & environmentally friendly because there are no air/ground pollutants & PVC uses less fossil fuel than wood or aluminum in its production. The Double Extruded Vinyl PVC is designed to last a lifetime.
The choice is yours of which PVC fence is right for your home, the best fence with longevity in color & stability is the Double Extruded Vinyl.
